Toowoomba Event Venues: The Complete Guide

For spectator events, the Toowoomba Sports Ground holds around 9,000 to 11,000. For functions, the Showgrounds’ Founders Pavilion takes up to 2,500 undercover, and Rumours International Convention Centre in the CBD fits up to 2,000 cocktail or 1,000 seated.

Usually, yes. Gabbinbar, for example, welcomes external DJs who bring their own rig. Some venues have in-house AV or preferred suppliers, so ask about power, load-in times and insurance requirements before you book.

Civic Square gives you about 59 by 48 metres of grass, Queens Park is the city’s premier parkland, and the Kwong Sang Walk and Carnival Lane laneways both have power available. For a wedding ceremony, the Showgrounds’ Bush Amphitheatre seats 320 in a bushland setting.

Peak-season Saturday weddings often book 12 to 18 months ahead. Corporate and Christmas functions usually need 3 to 6 months, and birthdays 2 to 4 months. Events on council land need extra time for approvals.
